All patient visits are by appointment to reduce the amount of time you spend in our waiting room. We do keep some appointments open for same-day scheduling to accommodate emergencies, the scheduling needs of our patients, and occasional unexpected visits for our patients.
Emergencies during office hours will be seen on an immediate basis. We ask that you call our office during these hours to make an appointment. The nature of the illness will determine the duration of the appointment.
If you schedule an appointment for routine physicals, pap smears, or health maintenance, we encourage you to schedule these appointments well in advance. We understand that illnesses can happen suddenly. Our office will make every effort to schedule an appointment for you as soon as possible. We will also attempt to schedule you with your practitioner.
Please call our office 24 hours in advance if you cannot keep your scheduled appointment. We expect this courtesy from you and is a courtesy to other patients. Our goal is to see you at your scheduled time. We ask that you be prompt since we are concerned about you. Our receptionists have been trained to carefully screen all calls and allow ample time for your office visit.
Proper dress is required, including shirts and shoes.
Minor emergencies can be seen in the office during office hours. If you have an emergency after hours, please call the Wake Forest Baptist Health Lexington Medical Center operator at 336-716-7816 and ask to speak with the Lexington Family Physicians' doctor on call. This possibly saves you the expense of an Emergency Room visit.
If you have questions about your prescription or need refills, we ask you to contact your pharmacist. You may also request a refill by using our Secure Patient Portal. You may register by clicking PATIENT PORTAL on the menu bar. We use an electronic prescribing system that will allow your prescriptions to be sent directly to the pharmacy of your choice.
Our Physicians or Physicians Assistants cover all weekend and after-hours calls. Please call the Wake Forest Baptist Health Lexington Medical Center for after-hour emergencies at 336-716-7816. The operator will contact the on-call provider and will contact you promptly. Please call the operator again if you have not heard back within 30 minutes.
We encourage you to call the office with your medical questions. A Clinical Team Member or your doctor may call, e-mail, or mail your laboratory or diagnostic test results. If you have not received the results (labs-7days, radiology/mammogram-10 days), please contact our office or leave a phone number where we can reach you. A Clinical Team Member will return your call as promptly as possible. We encourage you to use our Secure Patient Portal for all non-urgent medical questions.
Medical problems and information that you discuss with your practitioner are confidential. Without your written permission, we will not release private medical information to anyone, including attorneys and insurance companies. Your practitioner and their staff want to assure you that they will not discuss your medical problems outside of the office.
